The Centre Delàs d’Estudis per la Pau and the Armed Banking Campaign point to the 100 financial institutions that have financed the most some of the major arms companies around the world, including BBVA and Banco Santander with more than $8.3 billion invested in the arms business between 2015 and 2019.
A hundred large financial institutions from the United States and others around the world have financed or invested between 2015 and 2019 more than 800 billion dollars in 38 arms-producing companies, among which are some of the world’s leading arms companies, manufacturers of nuclear weapons and other controversial weapons. Entities such as Vanguard, BlackRock, Citigroup, Wells Fargo and JPMorgan, which also lead the rankings of the most polluting financial institutions in the world, occupy the top positions in the ranking.
